What The Girl from the South Is About

The year is 1989. A youth festival is being held in North Korea. A delegation comes from Argentina. José Luis García is with it, in place of his older brother. He has a video camera with him. There he films a woman. Her name is Im Su-kyong. She is a peace activist from South Korea. She swears she will cross the border between the two Koreas on foot. In those days she is called the Flower of Reunification. Twenty years go by. García takes out that old footage and travels to Korea to find her. José Luis García made the ninety three minute documentary about that search and the meeting, an Argentine production finished in 2012.
