What The Goodbye Kiss Is About
When the Berlin Wall comes down, a former far-left militant hiding in Latin America decides that prison is negotiable. Giorgio gives a corrupt police official the names of his old comrades, serves a short sentence and walks out determined to look like an ordinary citizen: a steady job, a fiancee, a respectable address. Michele Soavi, returning to features after years in television, adapts Massimo Carlotto's novel into a cold study of a man who will sacrifice anyone at all to keep his new life looking clean.
