What The Hand in the Trap Is About
Laura is at a boarding school. She comes home for the holidays. The house is a large dark mansion. Her mother and her aunt live there. Both make their living by embroidery. They rarely go out. A dull summer is waiting for Laura. There is a room in the house. Nobody goes into it. Laura wants to know why. She takes up with a mechanic her own age and sets about finding out. Upstairs there is a woman shut away, an aunt of hers who was engaged years ago to a landowner called Achával and closed herself in that room when he left her. Elsa Daniel and Francisco Rabal appear in the ninety one minute film, an Argentine and Spanish production Leopoldo Torre Nilsson finished in 1961.
