What The Human Resources Manager Is About
The human resources manager of a large bakery in Jerusalem has an uncomfortable morning: it turns out that a woman killed in a suicide bombing worked at the plant and nobody had noticed. A journalist is preparing to write about it. To protect the company's name, the manager is sent to take the woman's body home to her own country. Eran Riklis directed the film from A. B. Yehoshua's novel, with a screenplay by Noah Stollman. The journey continues in Romania, where the film turns into a road movie. It is a co-production between Israel, Germany, France and Romania. It was named best film at the Ophir awards in 2010 and became Israel's Oscar submission. The tone is both bitter and comic.
