What The Lady Hermit Is About
A young woman is looking for a master, to learn kung fu and defeat a man called the Black Demon. She makes friends with a servant woman in the house where she works without knowing who she is. When the Black Demon's men attack, the servant draws her sword: she is the master the girl was seeking. She takes her on and starts training her. Cheng Pei-pei plays the master and Shih Szu the pupil in Ho Meng-hua's Shaw Brothers film. Two women hold the leads and stand at the centre of every fight, which was not a common thing in Hong Kong cinema at the time. Lo Lieh plays the villain. An interest in the same man comes between the two of them.
