What The Last Train Is About

A businessman wants to sell locomotive number 33 to a company in Hollywood. The locomotive has a name as well: Heart of Fire. A group of old men known as the Friends of the Rails are against it. To them, selling it means selling off a piece of the country’s history. Three old men and a small boy decide to steal the train. A good many people are after them along the way. What the four of them are defending is not a machine but a piece of the past. The film builds this somewhere between a western and a comedy. Héctor Alterio, Federico Luppi and Pepe Soriano appear in Diego Arsuaga’s coproduction of Uruguay, Argentina and Spain, completed in 2002.
