The Lost Arcade

Chinatown Fair opened on Mott Street in 1944. At the start it was a penny arcade. Over the years it turned into an institution. It was a dim place and everyone met there. For a while it was famous for a chicken that played noughts and crosses. The arcade came through turf wars between gangs. Tastes changed and it was still standing. Then home consoles spread. Xbox and Playstation closed most of the arcades in the city. Chinatown Fair held on again. The real threat came with the neighbourhood changing. Rents rose and the district became something else. The mixed crowd who called it home faced being scattered. The documentary is about that crowd and how they held on. Anthony Cali and Henry Cen appear in the seventy six minute documentary, an American production Kurt P. Vincent finished in 2015.
