What The Man Who Changed His Mind Is About
Doctor Laurence, once a respectable scientist, starts investigating where exactly the mind and the soul reside. What he finds is simple and appalling: he can move one person's mind into another body. When the scientific establishment shuts him out and he is about to lose everything, he decides to use the discovery to settle his own accounts. It is one of the films Boris Karloff made in Britain, sixty-six minutes long and wasting none of them. The director, Robert Stevenson, would later move to Disney and make Mary Poppins. It runs on the thirties mad-scientist template, and Karloff refuses to reduce the man to a monster: he is somebody rejected first and dangerous second.
