A being from a planet dying of drought comes to Earth, patents its technology and builds a corporation to fund a ship that will carry water home. The money accumulates; the plan does not advance. The film is less science fiction than a study of dissolution: the character slowly loses his purpose inside television, alcohol and human relationships. The narrative never marks its jumps in time, so the years slipping away are felt in the form itself.
