What The Message Is About
1942, Nanjing. Officials of the puppet government under Japanese occupation are being killed one by one, and the head of Japanese intelligence shuts five suspects inside a mansion. One of them is the resistance's person on the inside and has to get a message out. Nobody leaves until it is settled who that is. Chen Kuofu directed; Zhou Xun and Li Bingbing lead. A closed-room thriller that keeps changing who is who. A warning is needed: the interrogation scenes are long and very hard, and the torture of the women characters is shown directly.
