The Pickup Game

The documentary takes up an industry. The industry is seduction coaching. At its centre are men who give lessons to other men. They travel the world running workshops. The fees are high. What they sell is technique for approaching women. The claim they teach is that women are drawn to dominant men. According to the film that claim is a myth. The industry turns over more than a billion dollars a year. Its beginning goes back to a book published in 1992. Ross Jeffries brought the book out himself. Online advertising then grew the business. The documentary speaks with the founders of this world and with its current names. The camera goes from chat rooms into conference halls. The ninety six minute documentary is a Canadian and British coproduction. Barnaby O’Connor and Matthew O’Connor’s film was finished in 2019.
