The Pink Cat

Panos and Archimidis are colleagues and share a flat. Panos is a young man of his time, while Archimidis is measured and conservative, a teacher. Panos tries to talk him into taking more pleasure in life. After that a doubleness begins in Archimidis: by day he is a quiet teacher, by night someone else entirely. When his sister is abducted he goes to a hospital to put himself right. The film uses that doubleness as material for comedy and comes from the popular vein of Greek cinema of the eighties. Two ways of understanding life colliding inside the same flat stands at the centre. Sotiris Moustakas and Panos Mihalopoulos appear in Yiannis Hartomatzidis’s ninety eight minute Greek film, completed in 1985.
