What The Rose of the Rascal Is About
The film tells the life of Irwin Goodman, that is Antti Hammarberg, one of the most listened to singers in Finland. His taking a stage name after coming from the provinces, his quick rise to fame and his partnership with the lyricist Vexi Salmi are taken in turn; as the songs take up poverty, the working man and anger at authority, they are both loved and found uncomfortable. The drink, the debts and the loneliness behind the fame are part of the account as well.
