What The Scapegoat Is About

England in 1952, with the country preparing for the coronation. A schoolteacher whose life has fallen apart meets a man in a bar who looks exactly like him. That man heads a wealthy family with a foundry and a complicated household, and one morning he disappears, leaving the other with no option but to take his place. Adapted from Daphne du Maurier's novel, which had already been filmed in 1959 with Alec Guinness. Matthew Rhys plays both men. Made for television, unhurried but well acted.
