The Show

The documentary takes up the culture of hip hop. The question it asks is this: why did this music spread so far. It puts the question to the names of the field themselves. The camera follows the artists from the street to the stage. The interviews are not in a formal shape; people appear as they are. Run-D.M.C., Slick Rick, Wu-Tang Clan and Notorious B.I.G. are among those in it. Russell Simmons, who founded Def Jam, both appears in the film and narrates it. Kurtis Blow, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre are in the cast too. Brian Robbins’s American documentary, ninety three minutes long, was completed in 1995.
