What The Sunshine Makers Is About
Nicholas Sand and Tim Scully were two men with nothing in common who believed in the same utopia: LSD widens consciousness, and a widened consciousness fixes the world. They set up underground laboratories across sixties America, produced the batch still treated as the standard for quality, Orange Sunshine, and managed for years to stay a step ahead of the federal agents. Cosmo Feilding-Mellen’s documentary lets both of them speak for themselves long afterwards. It declares neither heroes nor criminals, and traces where a generation’s unshakeable faith in its own goodness actually led.
