What The Surprise Is About
An eccentric multimillionaire, bored with being alive, signs a contract with a company that will arrange his death. While choosing his coffin he meets a young woman who has signed the same agreement, the two fall in love, and wanting out of the contract is where the real trouble starts. Mike van Diem adapted it from a story by Belcampo. This was his second feature, arriving a full eighteen years after his first, Character, won the foreign language Oscar, which the record does not mention anywhere.
