The last part of Peter Greenaway’s trilogy goes on telling the life of Tulse Luper, writer, maker and professional prisoner. Born in Newport in 1911 and last heard of in 1989, Luper’s life is put back together from the evidence found in ninety two suitcases scattered around the world. This part covers the later years of the Second World War and the Cold War, with the man moving from one prison to the next. The story treats the history of the twentieth century as a comic catalogue, and every suitcase works like a separate chapter. JJ Feild and Ornella Muti appear in the hundred and twenty four minute production, completed in 2005.
