The Witness: Cain and Abel

Jesús Abad Colorado is a Colombian photographer. For years he photographed the armed conflict in his country. The documentary goes back into his archive. The man looks again at the pictures he took. Then he travels to the places where they were taken. San José de Apartadó is one of them. Ganada and Bojayá are among the places he visits. He carries his own photographs with him. He finds the people in the frames. He shows them the pictures. Some see themselves and some see a relative who was killed. The conversations lay out what the conflict left behind. The photographer reflects on what the war did. He also asks about the future of peace in Colombia. The documentary takes the act of witness itself as its subject. Jesús Abad Colorado speaks about his own photographs in the seventy six minute documentary. It is a Colombian, Peruvian and British co-production Kate Horne finished in 2018.
