What The Yes Men Are Revolting Is About
For twenty years the two activists working as the Yes Men have introduced themselves as spokesmen for large corporations or government agencies and walked into conferences, television programmes and press briefings. Once there they say the things that institution would never say, and when the room breaks up, what becomes news is the statement itself. This time the target is climate change. Laura Nix, Andy Bichlbaum and Mike Bonanno directed the film together. It is the third in the series and starts somewhere different from the earlier ones: the pair are in their forties now, tired, with relationships under strain, and they are asking whether what they have been doing for years actually changed anything. The documentary gives no definitive answer to that. It screened at the Toronto Film Festival in 2014.
