Theatre

Julia Lambert is a well known stage actress. She has given years to the theatre. She has everything she could want. But one day she notices that she is growing older. The realisation shakes her. She looks for a remedy to pull herself together. She finds it in a new love. An ambitious young man comes her way. The young man has not a penny on him. Even so Julia becomes attached to him. So a new period begins in her life. That period brings both excitement and tears. The film was adapted from a novel by William Somerset Maugham. Vija Artmane and Ivars Kalnins take the leads in Janis Streics’s Soviet production of 1978, shot in Latvia.
