What A Limousine the Colour of Midsummer's Eve Is About
Old auntie Mirta wins a car in a lottery, but she cannot drive it herself. The moment the news gets out a whole crowd of relatives appears at her side, every one of them hoping to come into the car once she dies. Until that day nobody had helped Mirta at all; the only people who stood by her in her old age were her neighbours. Now her nephew Eriks is after the car with his wife and son, and so is her former daughter in law Olita with her second husband and daughter. The film treats a family waiting on an inheritance as comedy, and quietly notes who actually stayed. Lilita Berzina appears in Janis Streics’s eighty three minute Latvian film, completed in 1982.
