A documentary of seventy-eight minutes, and its title is a legal argument. Jafar Panahi had been given six years in prison and a twenty-year ban on making films for supporting the opposition in the 2009 election. Under house arrest, waiting on his appeal, he made this recording: moving around his flat, reading out the screenplay of the film he cannot shoot, marking a set on the carpet with tape, sitting with his iguana. His friend Mojtaba Mirtahmasb held the camera; the file reached Cannes on a USB stick hidden inside a cake. Panahi was later released and went on making films.
