What Tibetan Dog Is About
Having lost his mother, Jiantan has to leave his life in Xi’an and go to live with his father on the Tibetan plateau. The new place is foreign to him; the language, the air and the way people live are all different, and the distance between father and son does not close easily. There he meets a golden coated herding dog, and the bond he forms with the animal makes everything ahead of him bearable. Masayuki Kojima’s ninety five minute Japanese animation draws the nature of the Tibetan plateau in detail and sets a story of growing up inside a story about an animal. Tatsuomi Hamada and Norio Wakamoto are among the voices; it was completed in 2011.
