What Fullmetal Alchemist the Movie: Conqueror of Shamballa Is About
An alchemist separated from his brother finds himself in our world, in Germany between the wars. There is no alchemy here but there are rockets, and he is looking for the way back. The film runs the two worlds in parallel and grounds the historical half in real events. The narrative does not make the wish to return easy; every door opens at a cost. Seiji Mizushima directed. It is the direct continuation of the 2003 anime series, made to close that series' ending. Before watching: this is not a sequel to the later Brotherhood series and does not work without the end of the 2003 one. The political background of the period is used directly.
