What Mobile Suit Gundam 00 The Movie: -A Wakening of the Trailblazer- Is About
The year is 2314. Two years after the war, Earth has reached a fragile peace; the oppressive structure that ruled humanity has been dissolved and the secret organisation Celestial Being has withdrawn into the shadows. Then it becomes clear that a probe sent to Jupiter a hundred and thirty years ago and abandoned there is approaching Earth. There is something inside it, and that thing resembles no enemy humanity has met before. Directed by Seiji Mizushima, the film is the cinema conclusion of the two-season Gundam 00 series and is hard to enter for anyone who has not watched it. The idea the series worked on from the start reaches its end here: Gundam 00 told war not as a matter of heroism but as the result of communication failing. That is why the enemy in the film is something to be understood rather than defeated. The animation is far above the standard of the series; the space sequences are its best part.
