Together

A family sets out for a holiday. A mother, a father and their twelve year old son travel together. On the way to the airport there is an accident. The mother is hit by a lorry and dies. The journey ends there. The father and the son are left behind. The two of them try to carry on. The old order does not come back. The father chooses to hide what he feels. The boy struggles to make sense of the new reality. A great deal goes unsaid in the house. Grief pushes the two of them to separate places. The film tells it in a heavy and quiet register. It was the director’s entry into feature film work. Fridtjov Såheim and Odin Waage appear in the one hundred minute film, a Norwegian production Matias Armand Jordal finished in 2009.
