What Tomorrow Is About
Fentry, a farmer living alone in rural Mississippi, takes in a pregnant woman who has been left by the father of her child and looks after her. She gives birth, and after that everything changes. Joseph Anthony's 1972 film comes from a 1940 short story by William Faulkner, with a screenplay by Horton Foote, who had already written a television play from the same text. Robert Duvall and Olga Bellin had played these parts on stage in New York in 1968. It was shot in Alcorn and Itawamba counties in Mississippi. Duvall has named it as one of his own favourites among his films.
