Trevor Noah: Where Was I

After leaving The Daily Show, Trevor Noah went on a world tour, and this special is built from that material. The subjects are travel: why every national anthem is a war song, derailing a German sightseeing tour, being lectured by a waiter in Paris, the conceit each country holds about itself. Noah's method rests on impersonation. He does not turn accents into caricature; he catches the rhythm of speech and takes his observation from there. That is also the idea underneath the show: someone who belongs nowhere completely sees everywhere more clearly. Directed by David Paul Meyer. Who it's for: Anyone who likes stand-up, Noah's observational comedy, and humour built on cultural difference. Who it's not for: The format is a straightforward stand-up recording with no formal surprise. This is also a lighter set if you want political sharpness.
