Tunnels: Sun in the Dark

The story is set in Vietnam in 1967. The war is going on and the bombing is heavy. A guerrilla unit is living underground. The tunnels are narrow, dark and airless. Eating, sleeping and treatment all happen below. The unit is given a task. They have to protect an intelligence team staying with them. That team is a priority target for the American forces. Which makes the unit a target as well. Above ground the searching and the attacks continue. Below, every sound means danger. The account shows the war from the guerrillas’ side. What it dwells on is endurance rather than heroism. Thái Hòa and Quang Tuấn appear in the hundred and twenty eight minute film, a Vietnamese production Bùi Thạc Chuyên finished in 2025.
