Tupac Shakur: Before I Wake

The documentary covers the last year of Tupac Shakur’s life. The man telling it is his bodyguard, Frank Alexander. Alexander was beside him throughout that period. The camera goes inside the studio. There are moments filmed while he was making songs. Footage that had never been shown before is used. Days on tour and ordinary life are in there too. The story ends up in Las Vegas. Tupac was shot there and did not survive. The film goes to the place where it happened. It speaks to investigators who still have the case open. Who killed him is not known. The film does not reach a conclusion either. Other figures from that period speak as well. Tupac Shakur and Frank Alexander appear in the hundred and four minute documentary, an American production Sean Long finished in 2001.
