Omer The Tourist

Ömer has no job, no home and no worries. He keeps taking work and keeps getting sacked. His closest friend is Ruknettin. His latest job is handing out a bank's advertising money: fake notes given to people in the street. On the day he goes to the bank, the bank is robbed. Ömer walks out by mistake with the suitcase of real money the robbers took. The whole city is after him: the robbers, the police, and everyone who hears what is in the case. Hulki Saner directs the Turkish film; ninety-three minutes, with Sadri Alışık as Ömer. After this the character became a series, and for ten years they took Ömer to one place after another, the last of them out into space. Alışık's drifter is one of the most imitated characters in Turkish cinema.
