What U2: From the Sky Down Is About
The documentary is about how U2 made Achtung Baby. In 2011 the band went back to Hansa Studios in Berlin to talk through that difficult recording: a group close to breaking up, songs that would not come, and finally One. Davis Guggenheim directed, and the film was the first documentary ever to open the Toronto International Film Festival. Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois take part in the account. Less a making of than a record of the moment a band had no choice but to reinvent itself.
