What Unidentified Is About

Detective Florin is investigating the burning of two tourist hotels; there is no perpetrator and no evidence. As the investigation goes on the man himself sinks into the dark, dragging everyone near him into his own obsession, his anger and his appetite for revenge. Bogdan George Apetri builds it less as a police film than as a man dismantling himself; the closer he gets the more he loses. It is the second film in a trilogy set in the director’s home town, sharing characters with Miracle, and the third will centre on a woman. Bogdan Farcaș plays Florin. It screened at Venice in 2021 and won the special jury award at the Warsaw International Film Festival. The summary in the record is written like a marketing tagline and says nothing about the story.
