What Union Station Is About
The blind daughter of a wealthy businessman is kidnapped. A passenger notices two suspicious men on a train bound for Union Station and calls the police. Everything after that happens in one place: an enormous railway terminal, with crowds, tunnels, baggage corridors and no end of places to hide. The police and the station's own security have to keep the men in sight without losing them and find the girl alive. The time runs down with the clock on the ransom. Rudolph Maté directs, with William Holden as the head of station security, Nancy Olson as the witness and Barry Fitzgerald as the police lieutenant. Eighty-one minutes of film noir, almost all of it inside the terminal.
