What Unseen Is About
In 2009 the bodies of eleven women were found inside a house in Cleveland and in its yard. Until then the disappearance of these women had never been investigated, and what a woman who had earlier escaped from that house told the police had not been followed up. The documentary talks at length with the survivors and gives the case not as the story of the man who did it but as the story of the women nobody looked for. That is its real question: why were these women invisible, why did nobody go after them, and why did the neighbours not look? Laura Paglin’s seventy seven minute American documentary was completed in 2016.
