Until Sbornia Do Us Part

Sbornia is an island with a rich but eccentric culture. A high wall separates it from the rest of the world. When the wall comes down, the outside pours in all at once. The change turns the lives of two traditional Sbornian musicians upside down more than anyone’s. The film tells this as comedy, but its question is serious: what does a culture lose when it opens. The account neither defends being closed nor celebrates the change. This is an animation made for adults. The ninety three minutes take place on a single island. Nico Nicolaiewsky and Hique Gomez are among the voices in the Brazilian film by Otto Guerra and Ennio Torresan Jr., completed in 2013.
