Raghuvaran studied engineering and has been looking for work for four years. He sits at home. His father says the same thing every morning: earn your own money. His brother has a good job and their father holds him up as the example. Raghuvaran wants to work as an engineer and refuses any other job; that refusal is what the house argues about. In the end he finds work at a construction firm. There is a large rival across from it: Arun Subramaniam. The man wants a project and the only obstacle is Raghuvaran's company. The pressure begins. R. Velraj directs. Dhanush plays Raghuvaran; Saranya Ponvannan, Samuthirakani and Amala Paul are in the cast. The language is Tamil. Dhanush wrote and produced the film. The music is by Anirudh Ravichander and the songs were released before the film and drew attention. The matter it treats is unemployment and being counted worthless at home; the narrative builds its conflict inside the house first. The mother is its emotional centre and carries the line between father and son. The narrative shifts to action in the second half and the business conflict turns into fights. The film did well at the Tamil box office and a sequel was made. Its title means an unemployed graduate in Tamil and the phrase spread after the film. Its limit is structure; the two halves are like different films and the ending is conventional. Who it is for: viewers who like Tamil cinema and Dhanush's films. Who it is not for: the second half is conventional, it is long, and the ending where expected.
