What Venus Is About
Two directors set out to make a film as a way of understanding their own desires and frustrations, and put out a casting call. More than a hundred young women turn up and speak straight into the camera about their experiences, their fantasies and their embarrassments. As shooting went on, Lea Glob and Mette Carla Albrechtsen realised the casting sessions themselves were the film. What resulted is not a fiction but a record of how women talk when they talk about sex. Set in Copenhagen, it is for adult viewers by subject and keeps clear of display.
