What Wedding for Money Is About
Mircea hates weddings and everyone knows it; when a blunt post of his on social media spreads, he becomes known for it. At the same time, bad decisions leave him having to pay back a large debt. He is left with one solution: to hold his own wedding and clear the debt with the money collected. Cristian Ilișuan's Romanian comedy takes aim at the wedding custom in Romania: guests handing over money in envelopes, the reckoning by table, the talk about who left how much. The film shows it not as an accusation but as an arrangement everyone knows about. Mircea Popa takes the lead. The tone is light and the film was made for a local audience.
