Week-End in Havana

Jay Williams, who works for a shipping company, is sent to Florida when one of their cruise ships runs onto a reef off the coast. He gets waivers from all the passengers except Nan Spencer, a department store salesgirl in no position to postpone her holiday. His instructions are clear: take Nan to Havana, put her in the best hotel and keep her entertained. Nan goes to a nightclub, watches the star of the show, Rosita Rivas, and meets her worthless manager Monte Blanca, who starts making a play for her. Meanwhile something grows between Nan and Jay, and Jay’s fiancée Terry turns up. The film is a holiday comedy built on songs and dance numbers. Alice Faye, Carmen Miranda and John Payne appear in it. Walter Lang’s eighty one minute American film was completed in 1941.
