Buck Rankin runs a carnival. A man dies in a fight. The blame falls on him and he goes to prison. His wife is pregnant at the time. He wants her to build a new life. He persuades the warden and a message is sent home. The message says he was killed trying to escape. Twenty five years pass. His daughter has grown up and become a reporter. Her name is Sandra. One day she comes across the owner of a nightclub. She realises who the man is. At the same time someone is blackmailing him.
