What The Viking Is About
The film draws on an old Norse legend. Leif Ericsson is at the centre of it. He leaves Norway. What he is after is new land west of Greenland. The story concerns the first Viking settlers to reach North America. There is an English slave aboard named Alwin. A rivalry grows up over a woman on the voyage. Her name is Helga. Both Leif and Alwin have feelings for her. A question of a throne runs through the voyage as well. Half brothers come up against each other over it. The film is one of the early works in Technicolor.
