What Worlds Apart Is About

Sara is seventeen and her family are Jehovah's Witnesses. Her life runs inside the community's rules: she keeps apart from her schoolmates, does not celebrate holidays, does not get close to anyone outside. Then she meets Teis. He is not one of them, and she falls in love with him. She is a believer herself; she has no thought of leaving, and wants both. But the community does not allow both: the faith or the person. What she has to choose between is also her family. Niels Arden Oplev's Danish film is based on a true story, with Rosalinde Mynster as Sara and Pilou Asbæk as Teis. A hundred and sixteen minutes. The film does not demonise the community; it shows how hard the people inside it carry this too.
