Revenge of the Snakes

Kara Bayram is a poor villager. He lives with his wife, his children and his mother Irazca. A fourth child is on the way. One day a fellow villager called Haceli sets about building a house right in front of theirs. The village headman is behind Haceli. Kara Bayram and Irazca refuse it from the first day. Unwanted events begin at once. Irazca carries the fight against Haceli and the headman. The film was adapted from the novel of the same name by Fakir Baykurt. This is the second time the novel reached the screen. Filming was done in the village of Çınarcık in Uşak. This version was shot in colour and took in scenes the censors had cut from the earlier one. Kadir İnanır was named best actor at the Golden Orange for the part, in Şerif Gören’s film with Fatma Girik, Erdal Özyağcılar, Serpil Çakmaklı and Nur Sürer.
