What You Should Meet My Son! Is About
Mae is a conservative, churchgoing mother in the American South. She finds out that her only son is gay. Her first reaction is shock, and then she makes up her mind: he is not going to live alone and unhappy. She sets out to find him a suitable husband. That takes her into a world she knows nothing about; she goes to gay bars, misreads people, and runs into her own prejudices. Her son has no idea any of this is happening.
