Zabardast

The documentary follows an expedition into the Karakoram range in Pakistan. The party is made up of riders and mountain guides. They stay on the mountain for three weeks. The camera walks with them. The film is built as a travel diary. The telling comes from all of their voices rather than one. Sometimes it is the climb, sometimes the descent. Tiredness, fear and pleasure come in turn. Altitude sets the conditions. The weather can change any plan. The images give a sense of the scale of the mountain. The group opens its own relations to the camera as well. The film is less a sporting display than an account of a journey. Hélias Millerioux and Yannick Graziani appear in the fifty four minute documentary. It is a French production Jérôme Tanon finished in 2018.
