Akshaye Khanna

The British Film Institute's list of 21st-century Bollywood has Akshaye Khanna's name in it: in the entry on Dil Chahta Hai the institution counts him one of three big male stars alongside Aamir Khan and Saif Ali Khan, and writes that the three were set against Preity Zinta, Sonali Kulkarni and Dimple Kapadia. The entry ties the film to Farhan Akhtar and says it found the music, the style and the Australian locations fresh. Priyadarshan directed three of his sixteen films here: Hungama, Hulchul and Aakrosh, from 2003, 2004 and 2010. The Dhurandhar of 2025 comes first on votes, with Dil Chahta Hai behind it. His part in Dil Chahta Hai won him the supporting actor Filmfare in 2002.
