Dhurandhar

Aditya Dhar's spy film, and one of the longest Indian productions in decades at 214 minutes. The subject is an intelligence operation spanning a decade. An Indian agent infiltrates the criminal and political world of Karachi and lives there as somebody else entirely. Its hardness comes from that: the longer the character stays inside, the more he has to argue with himself about which side he is on. It is classified as fiction, but real events stand behind it: the hijacking of 1999, the attack on the Indian parliament in 2001, the Mumbai attacks of 2008, and Indian intelligence activity in the region. It was designed as a single film. In October 2025, during the edit, it was decided that the story would not fit into one, and it was split in two; the second part opened in March 2026. Ranveer Singh leads, with Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal and Sanjay Dutt. It opened on 5 December 2025. Before you watch, know this: it is long and the violence is heavy. The story also does not finish; the first part runs into the second, and watched alone it leaves the sense of not closing.
