What Ittefaq Is About
Two murders in one night, and two witnesses, who are also the two suspects: Vikram, a well-known writer, and Maya, a young homemaker. Each gives an account of that night and the two accounts do not agree. Inspector Dev has to work out which of them is telling the truth. It takes its title and premise from the 1969 Ittefaq, but the plot is its own. Unusually for a Hindi film it has no songs, as the older one did not. A hundred and seven minutes, tight and fast. Akshaye Khanna plays the inspector.
